아야즈마라는 이름은 터키 전통에서 성스러운 샘물을 의미합니다. 문자 그대로 '성스러운 물'이라는 뜻의 이 장소들은 종종 성소나 순례지와 관련이 있으며, 비잔틴 시대부터 흑해 연안에 흩어져 있습니다. 이 해변은 아마도 석회암 대수층이 자연적인 용출수를 공급하는 이 지역에서 흔한 지질 현상인 절벽이나 해안 지하에서 솟아나는 담수 샘의 이름을 따서 명명되었을 것입니다. 역사적으로 이러한 샘물은 해안 공동체의 거점 역할을 하여 담수와 항해사들을 위한 피난처를 제공했습니다.
