Oued Zhor beach extends along the Algerian Mediterranean coast, in the Tipaza region, about 70 kilometers west of Algiers. This stretch of coast is characterized by limestone cliffs framing successive coves, where the influence of the Oued Zhor periodically shapes the coastal profile. The shore belongs to this Western Mediterranean where the sea takes on deep hues and Atlantic currents temper the waters. The site features a fine sandy beach, exposed to offshore swells, which distinguishes it from adjacent rocky areas. 4.1 kilometers to the east is Plage DZ, while another Plage DZ extends 4.5 kilometers in the same direction, forming a series of accessible bays. Upon arrival, visitors discover a sandy strip where the gentle slope facilitates gradual entry into the water. The undeveloped nature of the site lends an atmosphere of relative solitude, far from the tourist infrastructure concentrated around Algiers. No supervision service is provided on this beach, and access is not adapted for people with reduced mobility. The site does not benefit from the Blue Flag classification. Visitors should plan for self-sufficiency regarding equipment and safety, especially during winter when the wadi may experience floods altering access to the shore.
