La Piedra Beach

About this spot
“La Piedra”在西班牙语中字面意思是“石头”，直接指出了该地点的主要地质特征。马里布的这个地区在西班牙殖民之前长期由丘马什人（Chumash）居住，至今仍保留着 19 世纪西班牙语地名的痕迹。俯瞰海滩的砂岩悬崖形成于中新世，约 2000 万年前，是加州海岸景观的关键组成部分。如今，当地徒步者仍然沿着海岸小径前往这些偏僻的海湾，延续着该地区早期居民探索海岸线的传统。
