Tunitas Beach

About this spot
Tunitas 是西班牙语“Tunita”（小金枪鱼）的缩略词，延续了加利西亚殖民时期留下的航海命名法。该地区在地质上受到圣安德烈亚斯断层的显著影响，该断层平行于海岸线延伸，形成了这些不稳定的悬崖和小海湾。在 19 世纪，该地区是半月湾附近活动的捕鲸者和走私者的避难所。如今，Tunitas 仍然是旧金山湾沿岸少数几个逃脱了海岸城市化的海滩之一，其原因在于其难以到达的入口和远离人口中心的地理位置。
