About this spot
普吉特海湾（Puget Sound）的名字来源于英国探险家彼得·普吉特（Peter Puget，1790年），它是一个在最后一个冰河时期形成的冰川峡湾。这片浴场反映了西雅图居民对在寒冷但清爽的水域中夏季沐浴的历史情结。自20世纪60年代以来，海湾沿岸吸引了许多勇敢的游泳者，他们渴望沉浸在水温即使在8月也几乎不超过15°C的水域中。当地的记录显示，西雅图的游泳俱乐部长期以来一直利用这些非官方区域进行冬季训练，将游泳视为一种个人挑战而非休闲放松活动。
