Pfeiffer Beach is located in the Big Sur region of California, in Monterey County. It is one of the few accesses to the ocean in this steep coastal area, making it a choice to prepare carefully. The place is also known for Keyhole Rock, a frequent photography subject; on certain days in December and January, the setting sun appears in the arch and attracts photographers. For a visit today, the interest is therefore the landscape of Big Sur and this specific coastal access, but check swimming, surveillance, or services on-site before leaving. The only other nearby place mentioned is Wreck Beach at 1.9 km, with a duplicate of Pfeiffer Beach at 0.1 km.
Pfeiffer Beach should be chosen for its rare access to the ocean on the Big Sur coast and for Keyhole Rock. The area's relief makes preparation important: check access, coastal weather, and local rules before leaving.
