Praia da Salema

Praia da Salema is a sandy beach in the Algarve, in the locality of Salema, parish of Budens, municipality of Vila do Bispo. Access is indicated as open, and the sport noted is surfing. The village of Salema is described as a fishing locality, historically linked to this activity and today a tourist destination. The winding streets between traditional white-painted houses and the integration into the Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina Natural Park provide the context of the place. The 2011 census indicated 276 inhabitants for the locality. The nearby beaches are Praia Grodo Mexilhão at 1.2 km and Praia da Foia do Carro at 2.2 km.

About this spot

Salema combines sandy beach, open access, surfing, and the context of a fishing village in the Algarve. It is a relevant choice if you want an outing in Costa Vicentina, with a local atmosphere rather than an isolated beach.
