İztuzu Plajı
İztuzu Plajı, also known as Turtle Beach, is a beach near Dalyan, in the Ortaca district, Muğla province, southwestern Turkey. It is described as a narrow strip of 4.5 km forming a natural barrier between the freshwater delta of the Dalyan River and the Mediterranean Sea. The site is one of the main nesting sites for loggerhead turtles in the Mediterranean; this species is listed on the IUCN Red List. For this reason, the beach has been protected since 1988 and is part of the Köyceğiz-Dalyan special environmental protection area. For a visit today, the issue is not only swimming: check access and respect the rules related to this protected natural area.
