Freshwater West is a sandy beach near Castlemartin, in Pembrokeshire, western Wales. It is operated by the National Trust, access is indicated as allowed, and it is part of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park along the B4319 road. The beach is noted for its strong waves and currents, as well as being one of the main surfing spots in Wales. The Castlemartin military firing range is located nearby. For an outing today, it is therefore not just a beach: it is an exposed spot, to be read carefully according to your activity. Frainslake Sands is 2 km away and West Angle Bay is 4.2 km away.
