Xeno Eftalia resort

Xeno Eftalia resort stretches along the Turkish Mediterranean coast, in the Eastern Mediterranean region (Turkish Mediterranean), at approximately 36.58°N and 31.87°E. This portion of the coastline is characterized by shallow bays alternating with rocky promontories, typical of the Turkish Riviera. The shore, shaped by millennia of limestone erosion, offers a succession of coves and fine sandy beaches bordered by umbrella pines and Mediterranean scrub. The turquoise water, generally calm in summer, invites swimming from the first few meters. The resort itself occupies a concentrated coastal area, integrating hotel infrastructure directly above the beach. Unlike TR-MED Beach, 0.8 km away, which remains more open and exposed to offshore swells, Xeno Eftalia benefits from moderate exposure, protected by surrounding reliefs. Just 0.2 km away, the TR-MED Water Park offers a fun alternative for visitors seeking additional entertainment. Other beaches in the area (at 2.1 km, 3.6 km, and 4.3 km) remain further away, reinforcing the relatively isolated character of this complex. The site does not have Blue Flag certification and offers no official lifeguard supervision. Access for people with disabilities is not arranged. The resort operates on a closed model, primarily reserved for accommodated guests, which limits direct public access to the beach. Specific facilities (showers, restrooms, dining) fall under private hotel infrastructure rather than public amenities.

About this spot

Xeno Eftalia bears the name of the Greek goddess Eftalide, a minor mythological figure associated with coastal waters. The site is part of the long history of Cilicia, an ancient historical region whose shores have hosted Phoenicians, Romans, and Ottomans. The Turkish Mediterranean coast, rediscovered as a tourist destination in the 1980s, has seen the proliferation of integrated seaside resorts, of which Xeno Eftalia is a typical example. These resorts, built on an 'all-inclusive' model, have transformed formerly inaccessible coastlines into organized destinations, reflecting the democratization of Mediterranean coastal tourism in the late 20th century.
