It is situated at the entrance to Cádiz, near the walls of Cortadura, the outer limit of the city's defenses from the 17th to the 19th century. The beach also extends along the left bank of the CA-33 up to the canal separating Cádiz and San Fernando. It is described as the longest beach in the municipality, with 3,900 meters in length and about 60 meters in width of dry beach, as well as the only beach considered virgin in the municipality of Cádiz. The nearest alternatives are Puntales Beach and Santa María del Mar.

About this spot

Cortadura is chosen for a long stretch of sand at the entrance to Cádiz. Its size allows for a walk or a more spaced-out setup, while keeping Puntales and Santa María del Mar as comparisons in the same area.
