Taylor Park Beach

Taylor Park Beach stretches along the north bank of the Saint Lawrence River, in Estrie, about 140 kilometers east of Montreal. This stretch of riverbank is characterized by low, accessible shores, where the river's current gradually shapes the banks. The region, dotted with mixed forests and discreet residential areas, offers a tranquil setting away from major tourist routes. The beach itself features a fine sandy surface, typical of the alluvial deposits of the Saint Lawrence. Its direct exposure to the river makes it sensitive to seasonal flow variations and weather conditions. Compared to Postwood Park, located 16.1 kilometers downstream, Taylor Park Beach remains less frequented and less developed; it also stands out from Plage CA-E, 16.9 kilometers away, with a more intimate atmosphere. The site offers a sober experience of river swimming, unpretentious, where visitors can observe the natural rhythms of the river. No specialized services are reported on site: no toilets, showers, or dedicated parking. The beach does not have the Blue Flag designation and is not supervised. Access is not suitable for people with reduced mobility. No restrictions regarding dogs are documented.

About this spot

Taylor Park, which gives its name to this beach, honors the memory of the pioneering families of the Estrie region. The area, colonized in the early 19th century by American Loyalists and British migrants, gradually developed around forestry and agriculture. The Saint Lawrence, a vital artery of Quebec, long served as a commercial route and a place of leisure for riverside communities. Today, Taylor Park Beach remains a place where local residents come to swim in the summer, far from the bustle of southern Quebec's developed beaches.
