It belongs to the freguesia of Gafanha da Encarnação, in the municipality of Ílhavo, in the Central Region, like Praia da Barra. The beach is sandy and lifeguard services are indicated as absent. Nearby landmarks include Costa Nova do Prado at 0.6 km, a kitesurfing and wingsurfing spot at 1.5 km, Praia da Barra at 1.8 and then 2.5 km depending on the entries, and Praia Naturistas da Costa Nova em Aveiro at 3 km.
