Ko Olina is located on the west coast of Oahu, Hawaii, within the Ko Olina Resort, City and County of Honolulu. The Grand Lawn is described as a lagoon-side space, private and maintained, at the eastern end of a 642-acre resort community. It is adjacent to Ulua Lagoon, a white sand lagoon that is part of the four lagoons of Ko Olina, as well as the marina. The lagoon is protected by a breakwater reef, which is noted as creating relatively calm ocean conditions. For today's selection, Ko Olina is therefore a very structured spot: sand, lagoon, marina, and resort environment. Nearby alternatives include Kahe Point at 3.1 km, Wet n' Wild Hawaii at 3.7 km, and Nanakuli Beach Park at 5.8 km.
Ko Olina is chosen for its lagoon format in west Oahu. The proximity of Ulua Lagoon and the marina provides a precise setting; if you are looking for an atmosphere less tied to the resort, compare with Kahe Point or Nanakuli Beach Park.
