Administratively, it is located in the municipality of Ílhavo, parish of Gafanha da Nazaré. To the south, it is adjacent to Praia da Costa Nova do Prado; to the north is Praia de São Jacinto. Dogs and naturism are noted as not allowed, and the Blue Flag status is indicated as yes. Barra is to be chosen for its very clear position between the ria of Aveiro and the Atlantic. Sand, Blue Flag status noted, dogs not allowed, and proximity to Costa Nova provide the main markers before heading out.
