하드 차오 파오 해변은 태국 코사무이 섬 서쪽 해안을 따라 펼쳐져 있으며, 본토에서 약 40km 떨어져 있습니다. 태국만 군도의 특징인 화강암 바위로 둘러싸인 일련의 작은 만과 고운 모래 해변이 특징입니다. 서쪽을 향한 만은 계절에 따라 종종 거친 바다 조건을 만드는 계절풍에 직접 노출됩니다. 해변 자체는 비교적 잘 보존되어 있으며, 바로 옆에 있는 시크릿 비치(0.5km)와 누디스트 비치(0.5km)보다 덜 붐빕니다. 하얀 고운 모래는 점차 청록색 바다로 이어지며, 바위 노두가 해안선을 따라 점재합니다. 썰물 때에는 산호 지역과 작은 바위 풀장이 드러나 풍부한 해양 생태계를 보여줍니다. 코사무이 북부 해변의 관광 중심지에서 벗어나 조용한 분위기를 유지합니다. 현장에는 화장실, 주차장, 식당과 같은 주요 기반 시설이 없습니다. 수영은 공식적인 감시 없이 이루어지며, 이동이 불편한 사람들을 위한 접근 시설은 마련되어 있지 않습니다. 바다 조건과 바위의 존재는 특히 조수 간만의 차가 큰 시기에 특별한 주의를 요구합니다.
About this spot
'하드 차오 파오'라는 이름은 태국어로 '어부의 해변'을 의미하며, 역사적으로 코사무이 해안에 거주했던 무슬림 어부 공동체를 가리킵니다. 이 지역의 화강암 지질은 2억 5천만 년 이상 거슬러 올라가 태국 남부의 특징적인 암석 지형을 형성합니다. 섬 북부의 잘 정비된 해변과 달리 하드 차오 파오는 좀 더 야생적인 특성을 유지하며, 덜 알려진 경험을 찾는 여행자들을 끌어들입니다. 지역 어부들은 여전히 인근의 작은 만을 정박지로 사용하여 수세기 동안 이어져 온 해양 전통을 이어가고 있습니다.
