Carbon - La Costa Beach
카본 – 라 코스타 비치는 캘리포니아 남부 해안, 말리부 지역에 있으며 로스앤젤레스 시내에서 북서쪽으로 약 50km 떨어져 있습니다. 이 태평양 해안 지역은 팔리세이즈 오브 말리부의 극적인 해안선을 특징으로 하는, 바다로 직접 떨어지는 편암과 사암 절벽이 특징입니다. 서쪽과 북서쪽 파도의 영향을 받는 해안선은 특히 겨울철 북태평양 저기압 시스템의 에너지를 완전히 받습니다. 해변 자체는 주변 암석 지형과 뚜렷한 대조를 이루는 고운 모래로 이루어져 있습니다. 1.2km 및 2.4km 떨어진 이웃 해변과 비교할 때, 카본 – 라 코스타 비치는 남동쪽으로 2.4km 떨어진 빅 록 비치보다 덜 붐비는 더 친밀한 분위기를 제공합니다. 퍼시픽 코스트 하이웨이에서 내려가는 좁은 해안 산책로를 통해 접근할 수 있으며, 썰물 때는 모래가 상당히 넓어져 조수 웅덩이와 자갈 지형이 드러납니다. 해변에서는 거주자 중심의 분위기를 유지하며, 해안에서 보이는 시설은 거의 없습니다. 이곳에는 영구적인 시설이 없습니다. 이 해변은 블루 플래그 인증을 받지 못했으며 공식적인 감시도 되지 않습니다. 험준한 지형과 접근로의 경사로 인해 휠체어 접근은 마련되어 있지 않습니다.
About this spot
'카본'이라는 이름은 주변 절벽에 노출된 기름 함유 편암 퇴적물을 가리키며, 수백만 년 전 마이오세 해양 퇴적 중에 형성되었습니다. 화석화된 유기물이 풍부한 이 지질학적 형성은 20세기 초 석유 탐사자들의 관심을 끌었습니다. 말리부 지역은 스페인 식민지 이전 츄마쉬족의 오랜 영토였으나, 1920년 이후 고급 주거 지역으로 변모했습니다. 카본 비치는 이름과는 달리, 말리부 해안선에서 가장 덜 밀집된 구간 중 하나로 남아 있으며, 불안정한 절벽은 이웃 해변의 대규모 부동산 개발을 저해했습니다.
