About this spot
헤세타라는 이름은 유럽 식민지화 이전부터 이 지역에 거주했던 코퀼과 시우스로 원주민 부족에서 유래했습니다. 지역 지질은 고대 화산 폭발로 형성된 백악기 현무암이 지배적이며, 오늘날 방문객들이 보는 극적인 지형을 만들어냅니다. 19세기에는 이 해안이 고래잡이 배와 모피 상인들의 거점이었으며, 난파선이 빈번했고 해변에는 바다가 가끔 토해내는 잔해 속에 이러한 격동적인 시대의 기억이 남아 있습니다.
