플라타 데 산타 루시아는 13세기에 이 해안선 위 언덕에 세워진 성 루시아 예배당에서 이름을 따왔습니다. 오랫동안 해적 습격에 노출되었던 이 지역은 역사적 사건의 흔적을 지명과 건축물에 보존하고 있습니다. 이 해변을 구성하는 자갈은 주변 석회암 지형의 침식으로 인해 발생한 것으로, 해안선을 끊임없이 재구성하는 지속적인 지질 과정입니다. 지역 주민들에 따르면, 이 해변의 돌 구성이 발렌시아 해안의 다른 지역에 영향을 미치는 관광객 과밀화로부터 해변을 보존하여 산타 루시아가 진정한 지중해 분위기를 유지할 수 있게 했다고 합니다.
