Seaside Cove Beach extends along the Pacific Northwest coastline of the United States, in the Oregon coastal region, very close to Clatsop. This stretch of coastline is part of the vast expanse of sandy beaches that characterize this region, where the Pacific Ocean meets a rocky coast dotted with small coves. The site is only 100 meters from Sunset Beach and 2.5 kilometers from Seaside Beach, thus forming a continuous string of beaches accessible to visitors seeking variety in the same geographical area. The beach itself is composed of fine golden sand, typical of the North Pacific coasts. Unlike Sunset Beach, immediately adjacent, which offers more direct exposure to oceanic swells, Seaside Cove Beach benefits from a slightly more sheltered configuration, creating a less exposed atmosphere to the elements. The sand extends widely at low tide, revealing areas for shell collecting and shallow rock pools. At high tide, the beach narrows considerably, concentrating activity near the coastal vegetation line. The general atmosphere remains wild and sparsely frequented, with an unobstructed view of the oceanic horizon. No lifeguard service is provided on site. Access for people with reduced mobility is not provided. The beach does not have the Blue Flag status. Visitors must bring their own equipment and check oceanic conditions before swimming, especially due to coastal currents characteristic of this region of the Pacific.
The name 'Seaside Cove' simply evokes the local geography: a small cove bordering the coastal town of Seaside. This region of Oregon, colonized in the 19th century by trappers and fishermen, gradually transformed into a seaside resort destination. The Clatsop coast, rich in maritime history, was the arrival point of the Lewis and Clark Expedition in 1805. The beaches in this area retain the raw character of the North Pacific coastlines, where winter storms regularly sculpt the coastal profiles and where marine fauna (seals, sea lions) remain visible from the shore.
