Whaleshead Beach

About this spot
鲸头海滩（Whaleshead）的名字来源于海岸外一块形似鲸鱼头部的独特岩石，这是19世纪沿着这条危险海岸航行的船只的历史地标。俄勒冈州这个地区遍布着由海蚀形成的壮观地质构造，在欧洲殖民之前长期是科奎尔（Coquille）美洲原住民的避难所。捕鲸者和沿海渔民认为这些水域资源丰富但不可预测，太平洋的风暴可能毫无预警地袭来。
