플라야 블랑키타는 코스타리카 태평양 연안, 과나카스테 지역, 니코야 반도 근처에 펼쳐져 있습니다. 사마라에서 남서쪽으로 약 9km 떨어진 이 해변은 이 해안 지역의 만과 만의 무리의 일부입니다. 코코넛 나무와 울창한 열대 식물로 둘러싸인 해안선은 태평양의 파도에 직접 노출되어 있으며, 해변이 빠르게 이어지는 이 지역에서 주요 관심 지점입니다. 해변 뒤쪽은 점차 바다 쪽으로 내려가며, 이 해안의 퇴적 지형의 특징입니다. 이곳은 인근 해변인 플라야 만자이요(1.2km)와 플라야 바리가나(1.5km)보다 덜 붐비는 특징을 가지고 있습니다. 반대로 플라야 블랑키타는 지역 해안 도로에서 직접 접근할 수 있으며 더 조용한 분위기를 유지합니다. 연중 맑고 따뜻한 물은 수영을 유혹하지만, 파도의 조건은 계절에 따라 달라집니다. 고운 모래는 반도의 제4기 지형의 특징인 해변을 구성합니다. 현장에는 영구적인 관광 시설이 없습니다. 해변은 블루 플래그 인증을 받지 않았으며, 감시되지 않습니다. 접근은 자유롭지만 장애인을 위한 특별한 시설은 없습니다. 방문객들은 특히 담수와 햇볕 차단과 관련하여 자율성과 자급자족을 준비해야 합니다.

'블랑키타'라는 이름은 모래의 색깔을 직접적으로 연상시키며, 코스타리카 해안 지명의 일반적인 애정 어린 축약형입니다. 니코야 반도의 이 지역은 1824년 코스타리카에 통합되기 전까지 니코야 주였으며, 식민지 시대와 선콜럼버스 시대의 유산을 담고 있습니다. 니코야 반도의 해변은 오랫동안 초로테가 원주민 부족의 무역 및 교역 지점으로 사용되었습니다. 오늘날 플라야 블랑키타는 덜 변형된 태평양 해안의 증거로 남아 있으며, 평온을 추구하는 여행자들은 사마라 주변에 집중된 해변 개발에서 벗어나 과나카스테 해안의 본질을 다시 발견합니다.
