Champion Holiday Village

Champion Holiday Village stretches along the Turkish Mediterranean coast, in the Eastern Mediterranean region (TR-MED), in the immediate vicinity of Adrasan and the foothills of the Taurus Mountains. This portion of the coastline, characterized by wooded cliffs plunging towards a crystal-clear sea, offers one of the most preserved views of the Turkish Riviera, far from the massive developments that mark the western beaches. The shore, shaped by millennia of Mediterranean erosion, exhibits geology typical of the Anatolian coasts: white limestone, small coves, and rocky seabeds that favor remarkable biodiversity. The beach itself consists of fine sand, arranged in a narrow strip between coastal rocks and warm waters. Unlike Plage TR-MED, located only 0.1 km away and often more crowded, this area retains a quieter atmosphere, while Plage TR-MED at 0.7 km is more integrated into a structured resort logic. The southwest exposure guarantees generous sunshine and stable swimming conditions in summer. Upon arrival, the visitor discovers a landscape where Mediterranean vegetation (pines, junipers) descends to the beach, creating pleasant natural shaded areas in July and August. The water, shallow near the shore, gradually deepens, allowing for a progressive and safe entry. The site benefits from neither swimming supervision nor the Blue Flag label. No standard equipment (toilets, showers, designated parking) is indicated in the data. Accessibility for people with reduced mobility is not guaranteed. The proximity of TR-MED Water Park (0.6 km) nevertheless offers a complementary service for families. The absence of integrated shops maintains the undeveloped character of the place, unlike more developed coastal tourist facilities.

About this spot

Champion Holiday Village takes its name from the hotel complex that structured it starting in the 1990s, as part of the Turkish coastal expansion post-1980s. The Adrasan coast, formerly a minor trading port under the Ottoman Empire, long retained its agricultural status before gradually shifting towards tourism. Geologically, this beach is part of the extension of the Taurus limestone formations, whose continuous erosion shapes successive coves. A local account reports that divers in the 1970s, before the arrival of hotel complexes, considered this area one of the best underwater fishing spots in the region, due to the exceptional clarity of the water and the rich fish life of the adjacent rocky bottoms.
