Deniz Kabuğu stretches along the Black Sea coast, in the Sochi region of southern Russia, in immediate proximity to the Caucasian coastline. This stretch of shore is part of the densely populated beach sector that characterizes the Sochi agglomeration, where the mountains descend steeply towards the temperate waters. The surrounding coast alternates between small rocky coves and sandy stretches, typical of this area where the rugged terrain leaves little room for vast beaches. The beach itself is distinguished by its close proximity to Vona Beach and Plage RU-S, located just 200 meters away, forming a succession of micro-beaches characteristic of the Sochi coastline. The site offers direct access to the Black Sea, with general exposure to Caucasian coastal conditions. The atmosphere remains that of a local beach, without major tourist infrastructure, contrasting with the more developed areas of the Sochi agglomeration extending to the south. No specific equipment services are reported on site. The beach does not have Blue Flag certification and offers no supervision. Accessibility for people with reduced mobility is not arranged. The policy regarding dogs is not documented.
The name 'Deniz Kabuğu' literally means 'seashell' in Turkish, although the beach is located in Russia. This nomenclature reflects the multicultural heritage of the North Caucasus and the Black Sea, a region where Ottoman and Caucasian influences coexisted for a long time. Sochi, which became famous during the 2014 Winter Olympics, remains a historic seaside resort since the Soviet era, attracting Russian vacationers to its beaches and subtropical climate. Small coves like this one retain a less commercialized character than the city center, offering a glimpse of local coastal life.
