Plage El Radma stretches along the Algerian Mediterranean coast, in the northwestern region of the country, near Oran Bay. The coast here presents a succession of small coves and pebble beaches, characteristic of this stretch of shore where coastal rock formations alternate with sandy expanses. The Mediterranean, relatively calm in this protected area, offers typical blue-grey hues of Algerian coastal waters. The shore consists of rolled pebbles, a surface that gives the beach a distinct texture from its immediate neighbors. 500 meters to the east is Plage DZ, while Plage Baie Ouest stretches 600 meters away nearby. This close configuration creates a string of small bathing areas, each with its own characteristics. El Radma is distinguished by its direct access to the sea without major obstacles and its frank exposure to offshore swells. The atmosphere remains that of an undeveloped Mediterranean coastal beach, where the sound of waves on pebbles dominates. No permanent facilities are reported on site. The beach does not have Blue Flag status and is not supervised. Access for people with reduced mobility is not provided. Visitors should anticipate their visit accordingly, without relying on basic on-site services.
El Radma, whose name evokes in Algerian dialectal Arabic a concept of stability or anchoring, reflects the maritime history of this Oran coast. This stretch of coastline has long served as a natural anchorage for local boats, before the development of seaside tourism. The pebbles that make up the beach come from millennia of erosion of the surrounding limestone formations, a geological process that has shaped this entire bay. Local fishermen continue to use these small coves as moorings, perpetuating a tradition dating back to the Ottoman era.
