Porto ceneviz koyu

Porto Ceneviz Cove extends along the Turkish Mediterranean coast, in the Lycia region, about 7 kilometers southwest of Adrasan and some 50 kilometers west of Antalya. This part of the Mediterranean coastline is characterized by steep limestone cliffs plunging into a deep blue sea, typical of this preserved southwestern Anatolian coast. The bay itself forms a small natural enclave, protected from prevailing winds by the surrounding terrain. The beach is distinguished by its discreet character within a string of coastal coves. Korsan Koyu, 1.3 kilometers to the east, offers a similar configuration but is slightly more frequented, while Çıralı Beach, 5.2 kilometers away, offers more services and tourist facilities. Porto Ceneviz Cove remains a quiet stop, accessible mainly by coastal paths or by sea, where the silence of the pebbles and the absence of commercial structures preserve an atmosphere of Mediterranean solitude. No basic facilities are reported on site. Swimming is unsupervised. Access remains underdeveloped and has no facilities for people with reduced mobility. This minimalist configuration reflects Porto Ceneviz Cove's status as a destination for independent visitors seeking a coastal experience devoid of standardized infrastructure.

About this spot

The name "Porto Ceneviz" evokes the Genoese history of the Lycian coast, where Venetian and Genoese trading posts marked the Mediterranean coastline from the Middle Ages to the Ottoman era. This bay, like many small anchorages in the region, likely served as a refuge for merchant ships and fishing boats. Today, it remains a landmark for hikers on the Lycian Way coastal trail and for sailors navigating this rugged coast, where ancient ruins coexist with the dramatic landscapes of the eastern Mediterranean.
