№14 (Big Blue Sky)

Located on the Turkish Mediterranean coast, about 4.6 km west of the famous Kleopatra Beach in Alanya, this beach is part of the rugged coastline of the Turkish Riviera, characterized by steep limestone cliffs and successive coves. The region, dominated by the Taurus Mountains plunging directly into the sea, offers a dramatic geographical setting where beaches are scattered among rocky headlands. The turquoise waters of the eastern Mediterranean border a particularly popular coastal area here, where tourist facilities are concentrated around Alanya, the main urban center of the zone. This fine sandy beach extends behind the two neighboring shores—TR-MED Beach at 1.7 km and Anjeliq Beach at the same distance—in a configuration that makes it a less densely frequented space than its immediate neighbors. The light sand, typical of this part of the Anatolian coastline, forms a narrow but welcoming strip, bordered by resort facilities. Direct southern exposure gives this sector generous sunshine and generally calm swimming conditions, protected from northerly winds by the mountain barrier. The character of the beach remains that of an developed seaside resort, without pretension to wildness, but offering direct access to clear, shallow water at the edge. The beach has active supervision, ensuring a certain safety for swimmers. Facilities remain basic: no specific equipment (showers, toilets, parking) is documented on site. Access for people with reduced mobility is not provided. Although lacking the Blue Flag label, this beach is part of the region's standard seaside offerings, close to Alanya Aquapark (3.7 km) and Alanya's major tourist infrastructure.

About this spot

Named "№14 (Big Blue Sky)" in the local nomenclature of Alanya's beaches, this site reflects the Turkish practice of numbering beaches according to their geographical position along the coastline. Alanya itself, a former Genoese fortress and strategic trading port, has undergone a radical transformation since the 1970s, evolving from a small fishing village to a major tourist destination. This beach is part of the string of seaside resorts that have developed along the Turkish Mediterranean coast, fueled by mass tourism from Germany and Britain. The nickname "Big Blue Sky" evokes the exceptional clarity of the Mediterranean sky and the intensity of the blue water, characteristics that attracted the first travelers seeking an accessible and well-equipped coastal Turkey.
