Located on the coast of Tarragona, in southern Catalonia, this nudist beach stretches along the Mediterranean about 15 kilometers south of Tarragona. The coastline in this region is characterized by a succession of small coves and fine sandy beaches framed by Mediterranean pine forests, where limestone cliffs gradually give way to more accessible coastal stretches. The sparsely populated hinterland retains its rural character with olive trees and vineyards descending to the shore. This nudist beach occupies a discreet sector of the coastline, surrounded by several other naturist areas: Platja dels Muntanyans is only 500 meters to the north, while Playa Naturista Benamocarra extends 800 meters to the south. The atmosphere remains quiet and uncrowded, far from massive tourist circuits. The fine, golden sand gradually slopes towards the clear Mediterranean waters. The absence of commercial structures or surveillance gives the place an intimate character, where visitors appreciate the discretion and authenticity of swimming in complete freedom. No facilities are present on the beach. Access is on foot from the surrounding coastal paths, which naturally limits visitor numbers. The beach does not benefit from the Blue Flag label and is not supervised. The lack of specific facilities for people with reduced mobility reflects the natural and undeveloped character of the site.
The name "Platja nudista" simply designates this nudist beach, a well-established tradition on the Catalan coast since the 1970s. This coastal region, historically linked to fishing and agriculture, has gradually welcomed natural swimming areas as mentalities evolved. The nudist beaches of Tarragona developed on the fringes of conventional tourist areas, attracting a community of residents and visitors seeking a freer relationship with the body and nature. The area remains little known to international tourists, thus preserving its local atmosphere and its vocation as a refuge for Catalan naturists.
