Platja del Corral d'en Bennàssar

La Platja del Corral d'en Bennàssar extends along the southeast coast of Mallorca, Balearic Islands, immediately adjacent to the Hidropark water park located 1.9 km away. This portion of the Mallorcan coastline is characterized by a succession of small coves and fine sandy beaches, bordered by umbrella pines and typical Mediterranean vegetation. The bay opens onto the Mediterranean with a general southeast exposure, offering natural protection against the prevailing north winds. The beach itself remains a discreet destination within a dense coastal area. In the immediate vicinity, Platja de sa Font de Sant Joan (2.4 km) and Platja de sa Font de Sant Pere (2.5 km) are very accessible alternatives, while Platja de Can Cullerassa (2.6 km) and Racó de ses Barreres (4.1 km) complete the local beach offerings. Unlike the main beaches of Mallorca, this area retains a less saturated character, with fine-grained golden sand and clear waters typical of the Balearic Mediterranean. Access remains free and open. No supervision service is provided on site, and accessibility for people with reduced mobility is not guaranteed. The site does not benefit from the Blue Flag label. Visitors should plan for their swimming and sun protection equipment, as the beach does not have specific commercial or sanitary facilities.

About this spot

The name "Corral d'en Bennàssar" refers to the agrarian history of Mallorca, where "corrals" designated enclosures or delimited lands belonging to local families. Bennàssar is a Catalan surname attested in Mallorcan land registers since the late Middle Ages. This beach is part of the coastal geography of the Llucmajor region, an area historically focused on agriculture and livestock farming before the tourist boom of the 20th century. The area retains traces of this rural economy in its place names, while the proximity of Hidropark symbolizes the gradual transformation of the Mallorcan coast into a leisure destination.
