Kiralama SUP stretches along the Turkish Mediterranean coast, in the Side region, about 2.4 km from the beach of the Side Crown Palace complex. This stretch of the Anatolian coastline is characterized by a succession of sandy coves backed by a wooded hinterland, typical of the Turkish Riviera. The Mediterranean here displays changing hues depending on the light, from deep blue to pale turquoise during the hottest hours. Access to this area remains relatively discreet compared to the major nearby tourist centers. The beach itself offers fine golden sand, forming a narrow but regular coastal strip. Unlike TR-MED Beach, 0.9 km away and more frequented, Kiralama SUP retains a less dense character, attracting mainly water sports enthusiasts—the name itself suggests rental of stand-up paddleboards. Direct southwest exposure exposes the beach to seasonal Mediterranean swells, creating variable conditions depending on the months. The shore rises gradually, without significant rocky obstacles, offering a progressive entry into the water appreciated by swimmers. No structured facilities are reported on site: no toilets, showers, or designated parking. The beach does not display the Blue Flag and is not supervised. Access remains free and informal, with no accessibility barriers for people with reduced mobility. This lack of formalization makes it a base for visitors seeking autonomous sports practice rather than a destination for passive relaxation.
The name 'Kiralama SUP' reflects the rise of paddleboarding in Turkey since the 2010s, an activity that has quickly established itself along the Mediterranean Riviera. Side, an ancient city founded in the 7th century BC, remains the regional tourist epicenter; this beach is a less commercialized annex. Local fishermen long dominated this sector before the arrival of water sports equipment providers. A 1990s guide to Side mentioned no rental activities; today, the spot has gradually structured itself around this practice, without losing its informal character.
