Playa El Salado stretches along the Caribbean coast of Panama, in the province of Colón, near the Atlantic entrance to the Panama Canal. This portion of the coastline is characterized by a succession of fine sandy beaches bordered by mangroves and dense tropical vegetation, typical of the isthmus's coastal region. The turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea bathe this area where the influence of tides and coastal currents continuously shape the shore.
