Aşı Koyu is located on the Turkish Aegean coast, in the Aegean region (TR-AEG), about 4 km north of Sarıgerme. This stretch of coastline, characterized by rocky coves and small pebble beaches, borders a crystal-clear sea with changing hues depending on depth. The bay itself forms a natural basin, protected from prevailing winds by the hills overlooking it, typical of the micro-landscapes that dot this highly indented Mediterranean coast. The beach is distinguished by its intimate character: much less frequented than its immediate neighbors located 0.5 km and 2.2 km away, it retains a tranquil atmosphere, far from the mass tourism that prevails in nearby coastal resorts. Access remains relatively preserved, and the site functions mainly as a small local seaside resort, without the massive amenities of large tourist beaches. The shallow waters near the shore make it accessible to swimmers of all levels. No supervision facilities are present on site. Access for people with reduced mobility is not provided. The site does not benefit from the Blue Flag label. The bay remains an anchorage for small local fishing boats, giving the place an authentic atmosphere, far from standardized tourist complexes.
The name "Aşı Koyu" literally means "vaccine bay" in Turkish, a local designation whose precise origin has been lost over time. The Aegean region, cradle of ancient Ionian civilization, retains in its coastal landscapes the imprint of millennia of human occupation. Aşı Koyu represents one of those small enclaves where Turkish coastal life is still organized around the rhythm of the seasons and artisanal fishing, far from organized tourist circuits. Local fishermen continue to moor their traditional boats here, perpetuating a practice that dates back several generations.
